Recommended Computer Configurations For Students
Whether you are bringing a computer you already own or buying a new computer, ITS recommends that your machine is a laptop configured with the below hardware specifications for campus use and to increase the longevity of your machine. Below, you will find our recommendations to keep in mind when buying a laptop.
Recommended Vendors
ITS recommends Dell Laptops with the Windows Operating System or Mac Laptops with the macOS Operating System. Chromebooks have limited support and will not be compatible with most standard Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵSoftware and Systems

Free Software For Students
Enrolled students can download and install software such as Microsoft Office as part of the Student Technology Fee.

- For newer laptops (ex. MacBook Pro 2016 model or later) with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports only, a USB-C to USB adapter
- USB headset with microphone (for improved audio experience) for Web Conferencing
Incompatible Wireless Devices
The PACE-WIFI network requires that connecting devices meet WPA2-Enterprise specifications. Some personal consumer devices, such as wireless TVs, wireless printers, etc., do not meet the WPA2 standard and therefore are not compatible with our network. Please be sure to check whether your devices meet this specification before bringing them on-campus. Also, the connection of personal routers is not allowed on the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵnetwork.
