Faculty and Student Research
A Solid Foundation for a Fulfilling Career
A National Science Foundation grant supporting cybersecurity research. A $300,000 laser-scanning microscope. International environmental projects. Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵfaculty is engaged in a vast range of funded research, and students—undergraduate as well as graduate—work alongside them. Develop resume-ready credentials for grad school or the career of your dreams.
Be Part of Research That Matters
Starting in your sophomore year, you'll have a chance to conduct mentored research in the field or lab. Erica Butts hopes her work with ion channels might help lead the way to microscopic computer chips.
A Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵProfessor Takes on Meat
What does your lunch have to do with global warming? Ask E. Melanie DuPuis, PhD. Recently, she's focused her research on the relationships between diet, democracy, freedom, and social change.
Centers and Labs
In dozens of research centers and labs across Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ, faculty and students are pushing boundaries in their fields. Some students are even co-authoring papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals—a valuable addition to a resume or grad school application.
There is an acute shortage of information assurance professionals in an industry challenged with an evolving threat to digital security. Through education and research, we're committed to addressing that shortage and building a strong workforce in a field that is crucial to keeping cyberspace secure.
Using large datasets and other tools, lab members—including students at every level—are examining how people cope with and adapt to significant life stressors, from break-ups to catastrophes.
The Haskins Laboratories produce groundbreaking research into parasitic disease and reveals new ways to improve human health globally. Students conduct mentored research and present their work at national and international conferences.
The Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation offers state-of-the-art resources and a variety of clinical focused learning opportunities ranging from fundamental skills to high-fidelity simulation.
All Centers and Labs
Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵis home to hundreds of centers and labs, specializing in everything from hearing loss and speech therapy to medical simulations and cyber defense, plus so much more.
eLab
The Entrepreneurship Lab is a cutting-edge collaborative workspace that brings together students from across Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ to promote cross-disciplinary problem solving. The lab organizes pitch contests and competitions, guest speaker events, workshops, and mentoring programs.
A Center for Faculty-Student Collaboration
By supporting partnerships between undergraduate students and faculty engaged in grant-funded projects, the Center for Undergraduate Research Experiences is at the heart of Pace's rich research culture.
The Office of Research and Graduate Education
The Office of Research and Graduate Education provides support, resources, and assistance for research-related activities at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ. We help faculty, staff, and students seeking grants/external funding for their research, scholarship, and creative activities. Our office also houses the Institutional Review Board and IACUC committees, and administers research compliance and integrity programs for funded projects as well as the university community. We have an active workshop and lecture series to disseminate information about funding opportunities, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and learn about the cutting-edge research being conducted at Pace.
