Charge

We are re-establishing Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ’s Administrative Systems IT Governance Group to provide strategic oversight and guidance in the management and development of IT systems and services that support administrative functions at Pace. As technology continues to play an integral role in all our strategic priorities, it is imperative that we ensure the effective and efficient use of IT resources to meet the evolving needs of the university.

The group’s charge is to facilitate communication, collaboration and decision making across administrative departments, fostering a coordinated and integrated approach to IT governance. By aligning IT initiatives with institutional goals and priorities, this group will help to optimize systems, manage resources, and promote innovation.

The group will be responsible for the following:

  • Executive Sponsorship and Oversight of administrative technology by providing strategic leadership as it pertains to Pace’s administrative systems and processes, including the selection and use of systems for administrative functions. The group will identify priorities for enhancing and developing existing and new systems to meet business needs.
  • Prioritization of proposals for system changes, new systems, and/or development projects. Review proposals and determine if redundancies exist and the impact on existing policies, standards, operating procedures, and the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵcommunity.
  • Resolve system and process ownership issues, approve processes for additions, deletions, and changes to the systems, and ensure alignment of responsibilities and resources for introducing new systems and capabilities.
  • Review and adjust policies that govern the operation of administrative systems across the University as needed.

The IT Governance Committee for Administrative Systems will complement the existing IT Governance process we have in place for Academics and Data Governance.

Academic IT Governance – ITS leadership team meets with each of the Schools/Colleges, Dean for Students and Faculty Council technology committees each semester to discuss upcoming projects, goals and to resolve issues.

Data Governance – Co-led by OPAIR and ITS, this group meets monthly to discuss the use and development of analytical capabilities, data management and institutional reporting.
