    Advisor Development Program Badge

    Non-Credit Badge

    Level: Continuing Education and Professional Development

    Instruction Method: Online and In-Person

    Academic Advisors that have earned the ADP badge have developed the entry level skills needed to effectively provide proactive, holistic, & comprehensive academic advisement to students from the point of assignment through degree completion. The advisor has successfully advised their caseload for 1 year. They are skilled in creating academic plans, performing degree audits, updating program worksheets, & using advisor tools (Degree Works, Banner, OnTrack, CRM, Slate, TCE on Demand, etc.).

    Earning Criteria:

    1. Ensure that each student understands all university requirements and individual program requirements as they progress through their curriculum.
    2. Maintain detailed student appointment and advising records in On Track, respond in a timely manner to all OnTrack flags, and follow up with students to ensure effective resolution to all raised concerns.
    3. Verify that each student on caseload is appropriately registered for courses in alignment with their curriculum and timely degree completion.
    4. Proactively track student progress and work closely with faculty and relevant university offices to identify, document, and resolve barriers to success and program progression.
    5. Support student requests on a variety of academic matters including registration, schedule changes, add/drop, waivers/substitutions, transfer credits, declaring/changing majors or minors, dual degree program, academic withdrawals, leave of absences, internship credit approvals, and resumption of study.
    6. Monitor Degree Works to ensure accuracy for program progression and the Registrar’s official degree audit process.
    7. Collaborate with Registrar to resolve any barriers to awarding degrees upon program completion.
    8. Facilitate timely schedule creation for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
    9. Participate in Orientation and related onboarding efforts, including collaboration across the division and with Student Affairs, the First Year and Transfer Experience team, and Admissions.
    10. Support initiatives to ensure continued student registration, returns from LOA’s, and seamless transitions in Resuming Studies, inclusive of documenting and reporting on any barriers to continued enrollment.
    11. Engage in activities and programs such as Awards and Commencement as they relate to advising and student success.
    12. Collaborate within select advisement working groups and committees to support initiatives related to academic advisement.
    13. Connect students with appropriate colleagues and partnering departments when needed, including but not limited to faculty members, Career Services, International Students, SADACA, Registrar, Financial Aid, the Learning Center, Counseling Services, and other student support areas.
    14. Attend two workshops throughout the year tailored to the advancement of your interests, skills and knowledge.
    15. Conduct a minimum of 3 informational interviews with other offices throughout the university (i.e. advisors in other schools, financial aid, Registrars, etc.).

    This badge will be awarded to ̾Ƶstudents who complete the required modules as listed in the International Student Professional Readiness Education Program (INSPIRE). Earners of the INSPIRE Program certification will develop the career readiness competencies to gain entry to pre-professional and professional roles as well as to ensure successful integration into the workplace culture. They will demonstrate proficiency in career exploration and planning, resume writing, interviewing, professional branding, and job search strategies.     Wellness Ambassador Badge Image

    Level: Undergraduate

    Instruction Method: Online and In Person

    Earners of the Wellness Ambassador badge have a comprehensive understanding of the 8 dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, environmental, financial, occupational, social, intellectual, spiritual) and how to apply them in their own lives and in support of others. They serve as Wellness Ambassadors who empower students to live healthier, happier, more successful lives through the 8 dimensions of wellness. They educate students on wellness resources and how to achieve their wellness goals.

    Earning Criteria:

    • Complete 12 asynchronous modules (approximately 30 minutes each) based on the eight wellness dimensions.
    • Attend a 1-hour synchronous training held via Zoom with a Wellness Mentor.
    • Complete 10 hours of pre-approved volunteer hours through one of our designated wellbeing programs, utilizing what you learned through the training and modules.
    • Complete a formal assessment of the Wellness Promotion program to assess knowledge gained from this program and readiness to apply it moving forward.

    Earners of the Applied Statistics Badge get ample training opportunities in data analysis, statistical model, and statistical programming through data examples and problem solving. Badge earners are capable of performing essential tasks (e.g., data mining and data visualization) in data-driven industries such as finance, business, marketing, and pharmaceuticals.     Immigration Advocacy Policy badge

    Credit Badge

    Level: Undergraduate

    Instruction Method: In-Person, Hybrid

    Designed as a credit- bearing badge for students who wish to demonstrate knowledge and competencies in the areas of immigration policy, US immigration law (both historic and regarding pending legislation), international law regarding immigrants and migrants, and asylee and refugee policy in the United States and elsewhere. Courses included in the required sequence carry AOK5/HSN credit and AOK3/WTC, while those in the “elective” sequence carry AOK5/HSN, AOK3/WTC and writing-enhanced credit.     Client Support Student Technician Proficiency 1 Badge

    Level: Professional Development

    Instruction Method: In Person

    Client Support Student Technician Proficiency I (Level I) staff can perform semi-advanced troubleshooting; install software and do basic hardware replacements; fix WiFi connectivity issues; properly distribute and decommission end-user laptops, desktops, and mobile devices; complete the computer preparation checklist; decommission a device securely (hard drive/RAM removal); properly record inventory changes for deployed/recycled devices; work autonomously; and go on field calls when assigned.

    Earning Criteria:

    Minimum of 20 Windows PCs fully imaged and prepped with no errors (A full-time technician does not have to redo any item of the checklist).

    Level: Professional Development

    Instruction Method: In Person

    Client Support Student Technician Proficiency II (Level II) staff can work unsupervised and self-assign work tickets; complete University PC replacements from prep stage to end-user handover; complete task lists for data transfer, shared drives, Outlook, etc.; troubleshoot/resolve issues with operating system, hardware, peripherals (e.g. printers), and networking; demonstrate awareness of other ITS departments and roles and can escalate to the correct department if needed; train junior staff.

    Earning Criteria:

    Complete a minimum of 10 University Replacements unassisted and with no errors.

    Have been delegated the responsibility of training a new hire and can successfully teach department processes related to Proficiency Level I: computer imaging, inventory updates, decommissioning machines, how to use Team Dynamix.

    Has established they are able to work autonomously. Work does not need to be delegated and technical skills are self-sufficient for majority of day-to-day operations.

They are competent in skills such as interpersonal communication, customer service, problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, and collaboration.

    Earning Criteria:

    Complete an online, asynchronous course on Classes that includes the following general academic advising skills and competencies:

    • professional etiquette
    • academic policies and procedures
    • FERPA core curriculum requirements
    • Degree Works and other advising tools
    • providing connection or referrals to student resources on campus

    Complete 5 hours of peer advising with supervision from a professional advisor. Effectively answer general advisement questions of a minimum of three students.
