Welcome Letter
The University-Wide Artificial Intelligence Committee (UWAIC) was established in April 2024 through the support of former Provost Joseph Franco, PhD, and the leadership of Beth Gordon, PhD, Vice President of Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer.
Our charge is to research and optimize the use of AI at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ. This includes identifying, assessing, and promoting AI resources across the University, supporting faculty in incorporating AI into teaching, and developing ethical AI policies that ensure academic integrity. Additionally, we are working to provide training and best practices for students, faculty, and staff.
The committee is composed of faculty from multiple disciplines and schools, alongside staff from areas such as DEI, marketing, library services, ITS, and more, combining a wide range of expertise and perspectives from across Pace’s three campuses.
The UWAIC is dedicated to positioning Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ as a leader in the responsible and ethical use of AI, empowering our community to leverage these technologies in meaningful ways. By fostering a culture of innovation and curiosity, we aim to set a new benchmark for ethical AI integration, not just within New York City and Westchester, but across the global academic and professional landscapes.
Sincerely,
University-Wide Artificial Intelligence Committee
