Session Types

First Year In-Person Sessions

Students and their families will come on our NYC campus for a two day program. Students will get the opportunity to stay overnight in our brand new building; 15 Beekman. During this time they will get both a fun and educational experience of what their next four years will look like at Pace. The orientation will include: info sessions, campus tours, academic advising, interaction with current Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵstudents/staff, opportunities to meet campus partners/organizations, icebreakers and a trip to One World Observatory!

Transfer In-Person Sessions

A one day experience specifically aimed and designed to help Transfer students with their transition to Pace. These sessions help students to integrate into their new university environment, understand academic requirements, and make connections with fellow students. We take time in these sessions to discuss Transfer Credit Evaluation, Academic Advising, and Registration so that students feel like they are starting at a point best for them.

Virtual Sessions

Virtual orientations have become increasingly common, especially considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These orientations aim to provide the same essential information and support as in-person orientations while utilizing online platforms such as Zoom.

Parent and Family Sessions

We have designed a program to provide information and support to the families of new students. We aim to help them understand the university environment, resources, and key policies. We discuss all the information given to students, but touch on the parent/guardian side of them. Talking about topics such as campus resources for families, financial information, campus safety, parent and family involvement opportunities, communication channels, and more!

Orientation Student Leadership Opportunities

Orientation Leaders (OLs)

The Center for Student Engagement creates the leadership position of Orientation Leader. Students are hired into this position to assist in implementing orientation programs throughout the summer for incoming Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ students. OLs are expected to possess a specific body of knowledge about the University acquired through training and experience. They must be interested and skillful in sharing this information with Orientation participants. Selection to the OL team is a unique honor and a rewarding opportunity for personal and professional growth.

OA’s are the main sources of communication between the office and participants before attending orientation.
