Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence

Each year the University recognizes exemplary teaching performance by full-time faculty through the Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence.

Please participate in this year’s process of recognizing teaching excellence by nominating a full-time colleague, preferably, one from New York City and one from Westchester.

Nominations are invited from faculty, students, and administrators, and should include a one or two-page supporting statement indicating how the nominee meets the following criteria:

  1. Unusual effectiveness in classroom performance;
  2. Evidence of an outstanding degree of student understanding and commitment to student success;
  3. Demonstrated high standards of intellectual interest; and
  4. A continuing source of inspiration to their colleagues.

Nominations may be submitted by emailing the Office of the Provost, subject line “Kenan Nominee” with a copy to the appropriate Dean.

Please submit nominations by 5:00 p.m. on February 24, 2023.
