Cultivating Research: One-To-One Faculty Mentoring

Honors College students at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵengage in the type of advanced research typically reserved for graduate students. Honors College students are encouraged to apply for up to a $1,000 research stipend to support research under the guidance of a Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵprofessor. Results are presented by students and professors at professional conferences, research papers are published, and credit is earned. The Honors research experience at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵis a building block for advanced study and future scholarship awards for research.

Honors College Advisement

In addition to regular faculty advisors, Honors students have specialized advisement. Both campuses have an Honors Director, an Honors Advisor, and a Council of Honors Faculty who are there to assist you in your decisions and to help you plan your individual path through four years in the Honors College.

Going For The Gold: Fulbrights And Other Awards

Honors College students are strongly supported to maximize their potential by applying for national scholarships, fellowships, and funded research programs. This list includes the Fulbright Award (the most prestigious scholarship offered by the U.S. Government), the Goldwater Scholarship, James Madison Scholarship, Udall Scholarship, Jeannette K. Watson Scholarship, Gilman International Scholarship, and the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates. Adding further opportunities to achieve, Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ has honor societies in many disciplines.
