Biography

Faculty Bio

Dr. Shin is an Assistant Professor at the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ. He has a diverse academic foundation, with a B.A. in psychology, a B.S. in integrated design, and an M.S. in cognitive science and engineering from Yonsei University in South Korea, alongside a Ph.D. in human behavior and design from Cornell University. His professional expertise encompasses user experience (UX) and data science, with significant contributions at prominent companies such as AMOREPACIFIC, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motors, LG Electronics, and McKinsey & Company. In addition to his industry achievements, Dr. Shin has excelled in academia, having served as an instructor and visiting professor at Yonsei University, Kookmin University, and FASTCAMPUS before joining Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ.

Research Interest

Dr. Shin’s research focuses on developing innovative AI technologies that assess and shape human experiences. He specializes in human-centered AI, creating systems that adapt to individuals to improve both user experience and AI performance. His current work examines the emotional, social, and cultural impacts of human-AI interactions, along with important ethical and alignment issues.
