Biography

Adjunct Professor Perry A. Carbone is the Chief of the White Plains Division for the U.S. Attorney鈥檚 Office, Southern District of New York, and is in his 34th year as a prosecutor. Professor Carbone began his prosecutorial career at the Manhattan District Attorney鈥檚 Office, where he was assigned to the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor and later prosecuted organized crime figures in the Rackets Bureau, Labor Racketeering Unit. Beginning in 1994, Professor Carbone worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of New Jersey, where he prosecuted numerous high-profile public corruption cases in the Special Prosecutions Division. He has been a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York since 2003, where he has continued to prosecute high profile white collar and public corruption cases. During his career as a federal prosecutor, Professor Carbone held a number of leadership positions including, most recently, Chief of the White Plains Division.

In addition to supervising cases in the White Plains Division, Professor Carbone also serves as primary liaison with law enforcement agencies and other prosecutorial offices on matters relating to the White Plains Division. As a prosecutor, he has received numerous awards for his outstanding work. Most recently, in 2022, Professor Carbone received from the New York City Bar Association the Henry L. Stimson Medal for outstanding work as an Assistant United States Attorney. He has also lectured on federal corruption issues at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina and the FBI training academy in Quantico, Virginia. Professor Carbone began his career as a Law Clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also worked as a litigation associate at the law firm Weil, Gotschal & Manges and as the Chief Compliance Officer at a G.E. Capital Corp.

Prof. Carbone graduated cum laude from Albany Law School in 1986, and with a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from State University of New York at New Paltz in 1982.
