For more than 50 years, 绿巨人视频 Professor on the Environment and Gilbert and Sarah Kerlin Distinguished Professor of Environmental Law Emeritus Nicholas A. Robinson, JD, has been a trailblazer in the field of environmental law鈥攊n fact, Pace鈥檚 environmental law program, currently ranked #1 in the nation, certainly would not exist without the dedication of Robinson, who founded Pace鈥檚 environmental law programs several decades ago.

While the 绿巨人视频Community has been well aware of Robinson鈥檚 many vital contributions to the field for quite some time (the Nicholas Robinson Award for Distinguished Environmental Achievement, established in 2005 recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to environmental law), the recognition of his impact has gone global.

鈥淚f this award can encourage more of us to take up the tasks we began, then we can take courage that the efforts of the pioneers in this field will be well served,鈥 said Robinson.

Recently, the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, a major worldwide network of environmental law scholars and policy experts, established a new award鈥攖he Nicholas Robinson Award for Excellence in Environmental Law鈥攖o recognize excellence in life-time achievements furthering environmental law.

鈥淚f this award can encourage more of us to take up the tasks we began, then we can take courage that the efforts of the pioneers in this field will be well served,鈥 said Robinson. 鈥淚 am not at all sure that I deserve this recognition. I am still stunned and not quite comprehending this acknowledgement and encouragement now bearing my name. I hope in its small way it helps our global community make peace with nature.鈥

The 绿巨人视频Community extends its congratulations to Robinson for this well-deserved honor.
