Paul Campano focuses his practice on commercial litigation and appeals in state and federal courts. With over twenty years of experience, Paul has litigated a wide variety of matters in many jurisdictions on behalf of clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 50 companies to public entities
Paul’s commercial cases have involved complex and sophisticated issues of corporate law, successor liability, insurance coverage, unfair competition, restrictive covenants, intellectual property, employment, business torts, bankruptcy litigation, franchise and distributorship law, construction law, toxic tort and environmental law, asset recovery, debtor-creditor, banking and commercial paper, and contract law.
Paul has also extensively represented property owners, developers and local boards in zoning and land use matters and has significant experience in litigating matters involving municipal and other public entities. He represents clients in residential and commercial real estate disputes involving such matters as contract and title rights, leasing, nuisance, foreclosure and landlord-tenant.
A former Law Secretary to a New Jersey Appellate Division Judge, Paul has also maintained a vigorous appellate practice throughout his career, and has participated in numerous appeals before state and federal appellate courts.
Paul’s experience enables him to counsel his clients realistically and accurately about the litigation process and the strengths and weaknesses of a given matter so that the client may make informed decisions as to whether and how to litigate, He also regularly advises clients on protecting their rights and avoiding liability well before litigation arises. Once a matter is in litigation, Paul works closely with his clients in formulating cost effective strategies for all phases of a case.
Paul has taught and lectured on such topics as legal writing, banking law and employment law. He has published on litigation-related topics.
