In addition to more than 40 environmental law courses, students at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law have the opportunity for research in cutting-edge areas of the law through our renowned centers and institutes that focus on various areas of environmental law, or they can represent public interest groups as student practitioners in one of our clinics. Students can choose from unparalleled prospects to develop their skills internationally and through on-the-job practical externships. In addition, Haub Law offers an array of rich experiential learning opportunities for students to participate in, such as the 绿巨人视频Environmental Law Review, the Sustainable Business Law Hub, our top ranked Advocacy Program, international environmental law programs, a variety of student organizations and more.

Clinics

At Haub Law, we recognize that developing practical skills through clinical education is an essential component of any legal education. Students have the opportunity for hands-on work in our clinics, where they develop the critical, analytical, and professional skills needed to become successful environmental attorneys.

Externships

Haub Law is the only top environmental law program less than forty minutes from New York City and 3 hours from Washington, D.C. by train, providing students with outstanding practice opportunities at prominent law firms, government environmental agencies, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

International Opportunities

Building on our faculty鈥檚 reputation in international environmental law, Haub Law鈥檚 Global Center for Environmental Legal Studies hosts numerous initiatives with an international focus. We also partner with institutes and programs abroad to give students the best access to international environmental law and policy.

Environmental Law Student Organizations

Haub Law offers several Environmental Law Student Organizations that help students grow their legal connections while developing leadership skills and a deeper understanding of current issues in the field.

  • Environmental Law Society (ELS) is a student organization that aims to provide Haub Law students with the opportunity to explore different areas of environmental law through events that discuss the current state of environmental law with faculty and guest speakers, specifically focusing on land use and sustainable development, energy and climate, and food and agriculture.

  • International Law Society (ILS) introduces students to the ever-expanding field of international law. ILS is an autonomous, student-run organization chartered by the Association for International Law Students. Students are able to participate in moot court competitions, cultural discussion groups, and career panels. It is their belief that in the competitive legal job market, it is not enough to have the highest GPA or Law Review. Involvement and commitment to international law outside of the classroom also entices prospective employers.

  • Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) provides a form for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at advancing the interests and improving the lives of animals through the legal system and raising the profile of animal law. The organization accomplishes these goals by sponsoring campus literature tables, speakers and debates, movies, volunteer opportunities and other forums for learning about animal law.
