Rachael Silva joined the Elisabeth Haub School of Law as Assistant Dean for External Affairs in 2021. In this role she oversees marketing, communications, media relations, government affairs, and the events team at the Law School.
Silva is a strategic and creative marketing communications professional with an impressive track record of successful brand building in academia, healthcare and non-profits. Before joining Haub Law, she served as Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for Touro University at New York Medical College for four years, where she helped established a leading national reputation for its new dental school since its inception. In addition to establishing the marketing, communications, branding, and media relations operations for the college, she was responsible for leading patient-acquisition marketing efforts for its 115-chair clinical training facility and building regional awareness through community outreach and government relations efforts. Silva also played a pivotal role in admissions, fundraising, college events, and overall campus and patient visitor experience.
Prior to Touro, Silva was Director of Creative Services at The New York Public Library where she led a team responsible for marketing, advertising, branding, visitor experience, publications, and multimedia for its 4 research libraries and 88 community branches. She previously spent 13 years at Montefiore Medical Center in a variety of leadership roles in marketing, communications, creative services, and digital media. Most notably, while there she played a pivotal role in a major re-branding strategy, the launch of a new website and award-winning advertising campaigns for its 3 hospitals, ultimately helping it elevate its brand reputation and rankings nationally.
Silva holds a MS in Graphic Communications Management & Technology from New York University, along with a BA in Professional and Technical Communications from the State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Electronic Publishing from the Association of Graphic Communications. Silva lives in Westchester, NY.
