Delve into Politics, Power and Ideology
In our Political Science program, you’ll combine fundamental political theories with authentic experiences that bring these concepts to life. You’ll connect with real policymakers, engage in stimulating discussions on a wide breadth of political and social issues, and sharpen your critical thinking skills that will prepare you for success in a number of fast-growing related fields.
Unique Opportunities
The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Global Studies emphasizes real-world problems and issues and provides you with tools like critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and foreign language skills. If you are interested in international relations, and global cultures and dynamics, and want to be involved in international affairs, this program is for you.
Sharpen your skills. Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵis home to a New York Tau chapter of Pi Gamma Mu, the International Honor Society in social Sciences. Pi Gamma Mu provides opportunities to bolster your resume, connect you to career opportunities, apply for graduate school scholarships and attend meetings and conventions.
Through the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵCooperative Education Program and contacts from the Political Science faculty, you’ll be connected to exciting internships and career opportunities at the local, state, national, and international level.
Undergraduate Programs
Our Political Science department, which houses bachelor’s degrees in political science and Latino/a studies, breaks down the classroom walls, putting you in the heart of real-world issues happening all around us. You’ll develop skills in critical thinking, civil discourse, and organizational decision-making as you prepare for a career tackling some of the most difficult challenges facing our world today.
Success Starts Here
Jeremiah Williams '23 found his place on campus within the political science department. He cites courses taught by President Krislov and Matthew Bolton as influential in his journey to understanding the political world.
"I chose to attend Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵnamely due to the Career Services program that showed promise in advancing my career interests. Pair that with the locales of the downtown financial district of New York City, an enthusiastic Welcome Center, and, of course, a significant financial aid scholarship offer, and Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵwas the leading candidate for my undergraduate studies."
